METHOD OF MAKING BULAR STEEL INGOTS
It was filed on February 18, 1955 under No. 1110/460224 to the Ministry of Black Metallurgy of the USSR
Однако эти способы требуют наличи чрезвычайно чистых шихтовых материалов, не всегда повторимых, и поэтому в промышленности не примен ютс .Various methods are known for the manufacture of damask steel and articles thereof. However, these methods require the presence of extremely pure charge materials, which are not always repeatable, and therefore are not used in industry.
The proposed method of obtaining damask steel, the mode of forging this steel and the manufacture of products from it are repeated both in the part of the technological process and in the part of the repeatability of the pattern. This method makes it possible to produce damask steel from alloyed and stainless steel.
The described method for the manufacture of damask steel is that a certain amount of pig iron is melted in an induction resistance furnace. After complete melting, the cast iron is overheated by 180–200 and, with the furnace turned on, with a constant stirring, low-carbon steel chips are introduced into the melt in an amount of 65-70% by weight of the iron. The metal should have a pasty state during the introduction of steel shavings. Then, further melt is heated and, when sufficient fluidity is achieved, but even with the remaining heterogeneity, the steel is released into crucibles. Before release, the steel in the furnace is liquefied with aluminum.
Adding to the melt alloying elements, get alloyed or stainless steel damask.
Повтор емость рисунка на издели х из булатной стали обеспеч(8аетс применением при ковке фасонных штампов.& HOW that the nature of the damask pattern of finished products is entirely determined by the forging techniques, the resulting ingots are forged at 900-1080. The repeatability of the pattern on the products of damask steel is provided (8 by using shaped dies forging).
