Abstract
A laminate material used for brazing comprises a core (A) of aluminium (alloy) which retains a high strength after brazing and an outer barrier layer (B) for preventing silicon intercalating into (A) during brazing. (A) has not been recrystallised whilst (B) is fully recrystallised. - Also claimed are: (1) similar laminate materials in which (A) has been partially crystallised and (B) is fully recrystallised; and (2) similar laminate materials in which (A) has been recrystallised to a very small particle size and (B) has been fully recrystallised to a very large particle size. - Preferably (B) comprises aluminium (alloy). (A) contains less than 0.3 % magnesium.
