Abstract

PURPOSE: To ensure the strength and rigidity of propeller shafts against heat by locating the alloy thin plate material on the outermost surface of pipes and laminating both FRP and the thin plate material.
CONSTITUTION: The york ends 2 are jointed to the propeller shaft spindle 1 consisting of the laminated compound pipe of metal thin plate material and FRP, respectively. The spindle 1 molds the FRP pipe 4 in accordance with the normal method. By fitting it with the aluminum metal pipe 3 of approximately 0.3mm in thickness, the laminated metal pipe 3 is located on the surface of the FRP pipe 4. Both the FRP and the laminated metal thin plate 3 consist of iron, iron alloy, aluminum, or aluminum alloy, whose thickness is 0.05W1.0mm.
