Abstract

The waveguide (11) has two thin sheets of logarithmic shaped metal section radiating elements mounted in a housing (4) on opposite sides (130) of the front face (122) of the waveguide. Square section elements (123) pass along the waveguide wall to feed the radiating elements. The TE10 electromagnetic wave propagates through the waveguide feeding the opposite phase voltage vector to each radiating element. Units can be combined to form an antenna network. ADVANTAGE - Gives high bandwidth associated with spiral antenna but with superior radiation properties of waveguide.
