PURPOSE:To increase the efficiency as an antenna at the frequency band more than submillimeter waves, by using an image line less in the loss as feeding line. CONSTITUTION:A dielectric substance 5 having rectangular cross section and long and thin length is placed on a thin conductor plate having thin and long slots 7. The electromagnetic waves propagating on the dielectric substance image line constituted with this conductor plate 6 are radiated from the slots 7. The loss of this image line can be about 1/5 at a submillimeter wave in comparison with that of a microstrip line. Further, the radiated power from the slots 7 is radiated to both the sides of the conductor plate 6. Then, the radiated power can be radiated only to one side by suitably locating the metal plate as a reflection plate in consideration of the phase of reflected waves.
