Abstract

An electrical welding apparatus has a welding box (4) connected to a welding torch (1) via a connecting tube (2) and an electric light source (5) for illuminating the work piece or area to be welded. The light source (5) is located in the welding box (4) and comprises a light bulb (6) and a lens (7). The lens (7) is associated with a light transmitter cable means (8) which extends from the box (4) to a terminal point (9) below the torch (1) to direct light from the source to the work piece or area to be welded. The light transmitter cable means is a fibre optic light guide contained within the connecting tube. <IMAGE>
