Abstract
In a process for optimising the efficiency of a mixture-compressing fuel-injection internal combustion engine, the quantity of air fuel supplied to the individual cylinders 1a to 1f in each work cycle and the gas pressure in the cylinders (detected by sensors 16-18) derived from the power of the internal combustion engine are determined. A control unit 12 determines the instantaneous efficiency for each cylinder and for the engine as a whole. The connected fuel quantity for the next cycle is determined from the overall efficiency and the instantaneous air supply; the connected fuel quantity for the individual cylinders is determined from the overall corrected fuel quantity and the cylinder efficiency. <IMAGE>
