Abstract

Method for producing Paris potatoes from unpeeled potatoes, by which method the potato (5) is shaped by means of two abrading elements (1, 2) which rotate at different speeds (m, n), form an opening (4) between them and subject the potato to two abrading actions (A, B) which act in opposite directions, and by which method the potato is abraded until it has been shaped into a ball (5'') of such a size that the potato is released from the two abrading elements and drops through the above-mentioned gap. <??>The machine for carrying out the method comprises two rollers (1, 2) which rotate in the same direction at different speeds, are situated axially alongside one another and are provided with abrading circumferential grooves (3), which are situated on the two rollers in pairs, one precisely in front of the other in a radial direction, and form a circular passage (4) of a size which corresponds to the desired size of the potato balls (5''). <IMAGE>
