Abstract

PURPOSE: To manufacture a grooved pipe in a short time, by inserting a longitudinally grooved mandrel into a metallic pipe to be woked, by pressing freely rotatable disks in number as same as that of grooves to be formed, to the grooves of the mandrel through the metallic pipe from its outside, and by longitudinally drawing the metallic pipe together with the mandrel.
CONSTITUTION: A mandrel 2, provided with longitudinal grooves 2a around whole its circumference, is inserted into a metallic pipe 1 to be worked. Disk holders 5, in the same number as that of the grooves 2a, are radially arranged on outside of the metallic pipe 1, and each disk 3 is freely rotatably born by each disk shaft 4 fixed to each disk holder 5. Then, the metallic pipe 1 together with the mandrel 2 are clamped by a drawing apparatus 8 and are drawn longitudinally; hereby, desired grooves are formed in the metallic pipe 1.
