Abstract

An intelligent monitoring device (99) is specified for a plurality of power supplies (50). The monitoring device contains a microcomputer (22) which controls the inputs and outputs of the monitoring device, executes stored algorithms in order to ascertain whether supplies are operating satisfactorily, transmits an alarm on the line (135) for a supply lying outside the tolerance range, stores status reports in the memory (23) for different supplies and responds to an external self-test subsystem request by outputting the status reports on an output line (136) in serial form. <IMAGE>
