Abstract

High-speed land mine clearing apparatus has a hollow support arm 5 including a right angle bend mounted for rotation about a vertical axis on the forward region of an armoured vehicle body 1, laterally of the longitudinal axis 7. An intermediate housing 4 is rotatable, generally about a horizontal axis 9, on said support arm, and a hollow fork 3 comprising clearing shafts 2 carrying flying impact elements is mounted for rotation about an axis 12 in the housing for elevational control of the clearing shafts, which can also be controlled for angle relative to the longitudinal axis and for tilt. A drive means for the clearing shafts extends through the hollow support, intermediate housing and hollow fork; this can include reduction gearing or be hydraulic. <IMAGE>
