Abstract
The invention relates to the area of forming technology. It is the aim of the invention to reduce the production time, tool costs and dimensional deviations in the rounding of workpieces. The object of the invention consists in eliminating the disadvantages of known forming methods and in providing a method and a device for rounding workpieces in the cold condition by means of explosive which can be employed in series manufacture. The essence of the invention consists in assembling, adjusting and clamping a plurality of initial workpiece shapes (1) in a die (8) to give a structure (4) with the shape of a hollow section filled with an energy transmission medium (5), an explosive charge (6) being detonated inside the said structure. The detonation pressure rounds the initial workpiece shapes (1). The initial workpiece shapes (1) can also be connected to one another by tacking or wound joints. The area of application of the invention is in the rounding of sheets and sections made of metal. <IMAGE>
