Abstract

Ventilating apparatus for sealed spaces comprises an air lock, the interior of which is at least partly lined with sound damping material (13), the air lock having an opening in which there is arranged a motor driven air fan (2) and also having a screened air discharge aperture. The air lock (1) is designed as a box column arranged to be mounted on the floor of the sealed space and either supported against or at a relatively small distance from an exterior wall (5) of the space. The air discharge aperture is arranged at an upper part of the box column and is provided with an at least partially closable screen (4) (shown as an adjustable louvered screen). The air fan (2) with the driving motor (3) is arranged at a lower part of said box column to communicate with an aperture (8) in the exterior wall. A pipe member (9) is arranged to line the aperture (8) and is provided with an entry grille (10). As shown there are dust filters 6' (which may be a sound damper), 16 (eg for sterilising) and 6.
