Abstract

2-Methoxybenzamides, in the form of racemates or enantiomers, corresponding to the formula (I> <IMAGE> in which n is 1, 2, 3 or 4 and R is either a radical SO2NR1R2, in which R1 and R2 independently of one another represent a hydrogen atom or an alkyl, or a radical S(O)mR3, in which R3 is an alkyl and m is 0, 1 or 2, or a halogen atom or the radical CF3, the alkyls having from 1 to 4 carbon atoms, and also their addition salts with pharmaceutically acceptable acids. The compounds are useful in treating disorders of the central nervous system, and a process for making them and pharmaceutical compositions containing them are also disclosed.
