Abstract

The extrusion tool has a housing (1, 2, 3) with a passage channel and a torpedo (6) which is arranged in said passage channel and together with the housing defines an annular gap. The end part, at the outlet side, of the extrusion head forms an extrusion die (8, 11) in the region of which the passage channel tapers conically towards the outlet and a die core (11) is provided which is mounted on the torpedo (6) so as to be axially adjustable and can be used to adjust the width of the outlet annular gap (18) of the extrusion die in such a manner that, in this way, the wall thickness of the pipe can be varied during operation. In order that high pressures can be used and, despite this, high setting forces are avoided at the die core, the part, coming into contact with the material being extruded, of the die core (11) has a uniformly constant cross-section as far as its free end. <IMAGE>
