In apparatus for extruding corrugated plastics tubing, in which the tubing is extruded from a nozzle 2 and expanded by compressed air, supplied through a passage 5 in the nozzle core 4, into contact with the internally corrugated walls of mould elements 1 which travel with the extruded tube, and escape of compressed air is prevented by a plunger (comprising parts 11 to 21) carried by an extension 6 of the nozzle core 4, the plunger is outwardly expandable and is tapered towards the nozzle 2 to facilitate the passage thereover of the extruded tube and is displaceable between the nozzle 2 and a stop 9 on the extension 6. The plunger is placed initially in contact with the nozzle 2 (as shown) and is carried to the stop 9 by the extruded tube to be halted thereby and the tube continues to be extruded over the stationary plunger. The mould elements 1 may travel along endless tracks as described in Specification 888,615, and are kept cool to set the extruded tube.
