Abstract
1493664 Feeding bottles K BORGGREN A NYSTROM and L LAGERGREN 8 Sept 1975 [16 Sept 1974] 36809/75 Heading A5X A baby's nursing bottle comprises a transparent glass or plastics, preferably polycarbonate, tube 1, Fig. 1, having a conventional teat 7 secured at one end by a threaded cap 6a, a slidable, elastic piston 2 inside the tube and a one way valve 8, Fig. 3, secured at the opposite end by a similar threaded cap 6b, the caps being threaded onto external, widened, threaded portions 5. The piston 2 has a boss to facilitate its removal from the tube 1 and a depending, thin walled skirt whose outside diameter is greater than the inside diameter of the tube. The one way valve 8 has a valve plate with a central air opening 9, one surface of the plate being covered with a foil 10 glued to the plate only along its periphery and having a slot 11 to allow air only into the tube. The tube 1 has graduations 12 indicating the quantity of the contents between the piston 2 and the top of the teat 7. In an alternative embodiment, a valve (13) (Fig. 4, not shown), has a separate foil (14) with at least one slot (15), the valve plate consisting of an aperture at (19) a domed portion (17) of a cap (18).
