Description

465 214 Man har hittills uppvärmt kanten på den löpande materialbanan inför omvikningen med varmluft. Man riktar en varmluftsstråle från ett varmluftsmunstycke, mot den löpande materialbanans kant. Härvid får man en spridd uppvärmning som är svår att avgränsa. Förutom laminatskanten värmes också termoplast- 13 kanten och detta medför att den blir mjuk och svårhanterlig i en därefter följande omvikning. Framför allt då termoplast- » kanten är laminerad med aluminiumfolie, då en uppvärmning av kanten kan medföra sprickbildning och veckbildning i den tunna aluminiumfolien och man får en kantomvikning som inte är helt gastät, vilket i sin tur kan förorsaka osterilitet vid aseptisk förpackning. Den efterföljande omvikningen kan ske med en serie rullar med olika lutning alternativt med en rem som viker om kanten.
Ett ändamål med föreliggande uppfinning är att åstadkomma ett sätt att uppvärma en begränsad del av en löpande materialbana utan att intilliggande delar av förpackningsmate- rialbanan påverkas av värmen.
Detta och andra ändamål har enligt uppfinningen uppnåtts genom att sättet av den inledningsvis beskrivna typen getts kännetecknen av att termoplastlaminatet utgöres av en löpande materialbana, där längs ena sidan i materialbanans längs- riktning, ett begränsat område uppvärmes och där utanför detta begränsade område finns en utskjutande termoplastkant som efter uppvärmningen vikes över det uppvärmda området.
En föredragen utföringsform av uppfinningen kommer nu närmare att beskrivas med hänvisning till bifogade ritningar av vilka: Fig. 1 schematiskt visar hur en IR lampa riktas mot en löpande materialbana Fig. 2 schematiskt visar en del av den löpande materialbanan.
Ritningarna visar endast de för förståelsen av uppfinningen väsentliga detaljerna.
I fig. 1 visas en IR-lampa 1 alternativt ett aggregat av seriekopplade IR-lampor, försett med en konventionell reflektorskärm 2. Genom att placera IR-lampan 1 med reflektorn 2 på ett visst avstånd från en löpande materialbana 4 får man brännpunkten 3 på avståndet A 465 214, framför materialbanan 4. Detta medför att strålningen bakom brännpunkten 3 sprides på bredden B på förpackningsmaterial- banan 4. Ökar man avståndet A ökar bredden B och tvärtom. B utgör således det begränsade område 7 på förpackningsmate- rialet som uppvärmes.
Antalet IR-lampor 1 som seriekopplas beror på den hastighet varmed banan 4 framföres, så att ju högre hastighet varmed man framför banan 4 desto större antal seriekopplade lampor l erfordras för att uppnå önskad effekt.
I fig. 1 visas också den från den löpande materialbanan utskjutande termoplastkanten 5 eventuellt laminerad med aluminiumfolie.
Då den löpande materialbanan 4 passerar IR-lampan 1 eller de till ett aggregat seriekopplade IR-lamporna, värmes den löpande materialbanans 4 termoplastyta till en temperatur som motsvarar termoplastens smältpunkt på ett begränsat område 7 strax innanför den utskjutande kanten 5. Det begränsade uppvärmningsområdet 7 utgöres då av en zon som sträcker sig utmed kanten på den löpande materialbanan 4 i banans 4 rörelseriktning.
Då man på detta sätt begränsar uppvärmningen påverkas inte kanten 5 utan i en därpå följande omvikningsprocess kan kanten som är ouppvärmd och lätthanterlig, omvikas med t.ex. rullar eller rem och förseglas mot en löpande materialbana 4 med en jämn och slät försegling utan risk för att den aluminiumfolie som eventuellt vidhäftar termoplasten spricker eller skrynklas.
I fig. 2 visas en del av den löpande materialbanan 4 där det område 7 som skall uppvärmas innan omvikningen, har fått en förtryckt färgrand 6. Denna färgrand 6 påtryckes lämpligen den löpande materialbanan 4 i en tidigare tryckprocess då förpack- ningsmaterialet får sin dekor. Färgranden 6 består av en mörk, mättad färg företrädesvis svart, matt färg. IR-lampan 1 väljes med en våglängd, speciellt anpassad för svart färg.
Färgranden 6 kommer då den utsätts för uppvärmningen från IR-lampan 1 att absorbera värmen och praktiska försök har gett vid handen att detta förfarande kan minska effektbehovet vid uppvärmningen med 50 %. 465 214 Färgranden 6 bidrar också till koncentrationen av värme- strålningen, så att obetydlig värme sprides utanför färgranden 6. fii Som framgått av ovanstående beskrivning åstadkommes med föreliggande uppfinning ett sätt att uppvärma en begränsad del Ä av en löpande materialbana, utan att övriga delar av banan, framförallt termoplastkanten påverkas av värmen, med följande negativa konsekvenser för den därpå följande omvikningen.

Claims (3)

PATENTKRAV
1. Sätt att uppvärma med infrarött ljus, med hjälp av en IR-lampa eller ett aggregat av lampor, försedda med stràlningskoncentrerade reflektorer, som får uppvärma en termoplastyta belägen på ett med termoplast laminerat pappers- eller kartongskikt, k ä n n e t e c k n a t d ä r a v att termoplastlaminatet utgöres av en löpande materialbana, där längs ena sidan, i materialbanans längsriktning, ett begränsat omrâde uppvärmes och där utanför detta begränsade område finns en utskjutande termoplastkant som efter uppvärmningen vikes över det uppvärmda området.
2. Sätt att uppvärma med infrarött ljus i enlighet med patentkravet 1, k ä n n e t e c k n a t d ä r a v att det begränsade uppvärmningsområdet är förtryckt med en färgrand (6).
3. Sätt att uppvärma med infrarött ljus i enlighet med patentkravet 2, k ä n n e t e c k n a t d ä r a v att den förtryckta färgranden (6) utgöres av en matt, mörk färg. r 465 214
