A drop-delivery stopper for a container comprises a tubular body 1, closed by a base 4 in which is provided a narrow slit 5. Extending downwards from a position adjacent one long edge of the slit 5 is a tongue 6 carrying discharge channels 7 which communicate with the slit 5. A projection 8, extending upwardly from the base 4, carries a discharge channel 9, which also communicates with the slit 5. On tipping a liquid container carrying the stopper about the longitudinal axis of the slit 5 drops of liquid are delivered regularly along the channel 9 to a wider space 9c, and thence to a discharge point 11a, air entering the slit 5 at its extreme ends. On returning the container to a vertical position, residual liquid drains down the channel 9, the sides of which may be tapered, as at (9a<SP>1</SP>, 9b<SP>1</SP>), Fig. 2 (not shown), and down the channels 7, Fig. 4, in the tongue 6. The base 4 is conical in form to facilitate such draining. The faces 8d, 8e, of the projection 8 may be inclined inwardly towards the channel 9 to direct liquid thereinto from the slit 5 during drop-delivery. In order to pour liquid in a continuous stream the container may be tipped about a horizontal axis perpendicular to that for drop delivery. A screw-cap (10), Fig. 1 (not shown), may seal the top of the container above the dropdelivery stopper when it is not in use. In an alternative form the discharge channel 9 is formed in a broadened portion of the wall of the tubular body 1, thereby dispensing with the separate projection 8.
