Abstract
1,028,451. Gearing for conveying rotary motion. PHILIPS ELECTRONIC & ASSOCIATED INDUSTRIES Ltd. March 4, 1964 [March 7, 1963], No. 9176/64. Heading F2Q. A mechanism for driving a sprocket 3 for feeding the film in a cinematographic projector comprises a uniformly rotatable shaft 1 to which is fixed a disc 7 having a radial slot 8, an eccentric disc 11 carrying a pin 12, which engages the slot 8, and having a slot 13 which is engaged by a pin 14 on a disc 5, and a Maltese cross 6 secured to a driven shaft 2, carrying the sprocket 3, the shaft 2 being driven intermittently by the engagement of a pin 4 on the disc 5 with the Maltese cross 6. The eccentric disc 11 is rotatably mounted on a fixed disc 9 which also serves as a bearing for shaft 1. The disc 5 is rotatably mounted on shaft 1. In a modification, shown in Fig. 3, an eccentric disc 11 has a slot formed by two projecting radial surfaces 13, and the mechanism is enclosed by a housing 15.
