Abstract

 Protection against bullet fragments, containing opaque armor, characterized in that the protection contains bullet catchers that follow the shape of doorways, while each bullet catcher has mounting holes with which it is mounted and fixed on mounting plates rigidly connected to the car body.

Description

Protection against splinters of bullets (hereinafter referred to as protection) refers to the field of automotive industry, mainly to the manufacture of armored vehicles that ensure safety in an armed attack.

Known design of a special patented patent №3031. The body armor protection is made in the form of hinged armor panels mounted on its inside by means of welded joints and mounting elements, special bullet collectors are installed around the perimeter of the doorways (see Appendix 1). However, this design requires the use of welding and does not provide quick installation and dismantling of armor protection, and is also not suitable for VIP-class cars in appearance.

The closest technical solution is a barrier from a backache of the doors of an armored car, patent No. 71307. Armor protection of the outer upper part of the doors is made in the form of decorative armor plates, the outer edge coinciding with the contour of the upper part of the doors, and the inner contour overlapping the edges of the armored glass (see Appendix 2). However, although this technical solution is applicable for the manufacture of VIP-class cars, it complicates the design of the door, makes it heavier and reduces the view from the passenger compartment.

The purpose of the proposed utility model is to create a structure for protection against bullet fragments, which is not laborious to manufacture, which is easy to install and dismantle if necessary without the use of welding.

This goal is achieved in that the protection contains bullet catchers that repeat the shape of the doorways, while each bullet catcher has mounting holes, with which it is installed and fixed on the mounting plates, rigidly connected to the car body.

The essence of the utility model is illustrated by drawings:

Appendix 1 and 2 provide an analogue and prototype utility model.

Protection 1 consists of bullet catchers 2 made of armored sheets by laser cutting (see figures 1, 2).

Bullet catchers 2 repeat the shape of the front and rear openings of the car (see figure 1) and provide braking when a bullet enters the gap between the door and the doorway.

The bullet catchers 2 have fixing holes 3, and with the help of fixing elements 4 are mounted and fixed on the mounting plates 5. The mounting plates 5 are rigidly connected to the car body 6 (see figure 2).

Installation of protection 1 is carried out as follows: they remove the standard car skin, try mounting plates 5 and bullet catchers 2 to the installation site. Fasten the fastening plates 5 to the car body 6. Install bullet catchers 2 and fix them to the mount plates 5 through the mounting holes 3 using fixing holes 4 elements (see photo 1, 2).

Such a technical solution is not difficult to manufacture, since the protection is made by laser cutting, it is easy to install and dismantle if necessary.

This technical solution does not violate the appearance of the car, while maintaining the interior of the base car.
