Abstract
Description
The invention relates to the field of veterinary medicine, to the development of metabolic agents intended for metabolic correction, improving reproductive function and increasing milk productivity of high-yielding cows during the perinatal period.
In recent decades, Russia has seen an intensive growth in demand for products of animal origin. At the present stage of agricultural development, the development of the dairy industry and the production of high-quality dairy products is of particular relevance. In conditions of sharply increasing physiological stress on animals, the slightest violation of technology creates the prerequisites for the influence of stress factors that affect the health of animals.
Adequate feeding and maintenance of cows during the perinatal period does not ensure the proper course of all metabolic processes, therefore it is advisable to use drugs aimed at stimulating metabolic processes and reproductive function, increasing resistance, productive indicators and milk quality.
The frequency of metabolic diseases in highly productive cows and the damage caused dictate the need to search for new effective and complex drugs that prevent and correct metabolism, increasing the resistance of the animal’s body. During the perinatal period, highly productive cows exhibit metabolic diseases, at the peak of productivity they are caused by changes in metabolism, which are accompanied by insufficient provision of cows with nutrients, which causes a number of closely related diseases.
The problem of metabolic orientation in dairy farming is to develop metabolic agents that would help increase and stabilize the body's defenses, stimulate nonspecific immunity factors, correct metabolism, improve reproductive function and productive indicators.
There is a known method for correcting the metabolism, reproductive function and milk production of cows during the perinatal period (RF Patent 2795974, 05.15.2023), which consists of injecting cows with a biostimulant containing 10.0 g of succinic acid in 1000 ml of an aqueous solution, 40 ml of ASD 2 fractions , 4.0 ml of formalin, 2.5 g of novocaine, 100 ml of oxytocin. The drug is administered to cows intramuscularly in a dose of 10 ml three times immediately after birth, 10 and 20 days after birth. Oxyformol succinic biostimulant is a broad-spectrum drug based on succinic acid, which is used as a therapeutic and prophylactic agent that can be involved in the metabolic processes of the body and have an effective effect on the metabolism, milk production and reproductive function of cows during the perinatal period. However, during this period, cows experience a large consumption of microelements, which must be replenished, and for this, a certain set of microelements must be introduced into the composition of the proposed drug.
The objective of the invention was to develop a metabolic agent that influences metabolic processes, milk production and reproductive function of cows during the perinatal period, taking into account the replenishment of the mineral depot of microelements.

The drug was tested on white mice without complications, all mice were in good physiological shape, and no side effects were detected.
Oxymetallosuccinate is a complex immunometabolic drug that has a pronounced immunomodulatory effect at the cellular and humoral levels and causes an improvement in metabolic processes in various pathophysiological and pathobiochemical conditions and includes the following components: succinic acid, ASD 2 fractions, oxytocin, formalin, novocaine, polyvinyl alcohol, sulfates iron, zinc, copper, cobalt and magnesium.
Succinic acid has high metabolic activity, normalizes the activity of the nervous system, and inhibits inflammatory processes. ASD 2 fractions have a powerful immunostimulating effect. Oxytocin is a synthetic hormone similar to a natural peptide of the posterior pituitary gland. Stimulates contraction of the smooth muscles of the uterus and myoepithelial cells of the mammary gland. Formalin is an antiseptic and disinfectant substance that destroys bacteria, viruses, fungi and their spores. It has the ability to coagulate proteins, thereby preventing decomposition processes and eliminating unpleasant odors. Polyvinyl alcohol acts as a plasma substitute during blood transfusion and takes part in a number of other equally significant medical processes, such as the immobilization of cells and enzymes. Polyvinyl alcohol is used as a prolongator and carrier for targeted drug delivery. Novocaine relieves pain during injections and has a faster effect. Microelements play an important role in normalizing metabolic processes in the body of animals. The biological role of iron is that it is part of hemoglobin and iron-containing enzymes involved in tissue oxidation, where this trace element promotes the movement of electrons into the respiratory chain. Copper is involved in a number of enzymatic processes, having a significant effect on metabolism. Together with iron and vitamin B12, copper is necessary for the normal course of hemoglobin formation, hair growth and pigmentation, reproduction and lactation. Zinc is involved in the regulation of gas, water, carbohydrate, mineral and nitrogen metabolism, serves as a catalyst in redox processes, increases the physiological activity of vitamins and activates many enzymes, increases the power of phagocytosis, and ensures normal reproduction. Cobalt is present in the vitamin B12 molecule and has an active effect on the metabolism of carbohydrates, proteins, minerals, on the accumulation of certain vitamins in the organs and tissues of the animal, on the growth of microorganisms in the gastrointestinal tract and the synthesis of vitamin B12. The effective effect of oxymetallosuccinate on biochemical and metabolic processes is justified by the introduction into the body of biologically active substances that help increase the mineral level and metabolic profile - total protein, alkaline reserve and glucose, which correct the metabolic imbalance of highly productive cows in the perinatal period. Oxymetallosuccinate is simple in terms of availability of components, manufacturing method, and use, which makes it possible to offer it as a means for correcting metabolism, milk production and reproductive function of cows during the perinatal period.
The drug oxymetallosuccinate is more effective, as it includes succinic acid, ASD-2 fractions, formalin, oxytocin, polyvinyl alcohol and additionally contains sulfates of iron, copper, zinc, cobalt, intended to replenish the mineral depot in connection with labor, restoration of reproductive function and the lactation period .
The study of the effect of oxymetallosuccinate on the correction of metabolism of highly productive cows during the perinatal period was carried out in the laboratory of veterinary medicine and biotechnology of the Kursk FANC and the dairy complex of the Znamenskoye educational farm of the Kursk State Agrarian University in 2022-2023. during the period of mass calving. For the experiment, according to the principle of analogues, two groups of cows (experimental and control) of the black-and-white breed, aged 4-7 years, 33 heads at the calving stage and milk productivity of 5700-6500 kg, were selected. All animals were under the same feeding and housing conditions. The experimental group was administered intramuscularly with oxymetallosuccinate in a dose of 10 ml immediately after birth and at an interval of 15 days, depending on the physiological state of the cows. The second group of cows served as control. In the first hours after birth and 15 days later, blood was taken from the cows of the experimental and control groups for biochemical analysis from the jugular vein. Biochemical blood tests were performed on a BioChem FC-200 automatic analyzer. The significance of differences between groups was assessed using the parametric Student's t-test at a significance level of 0.05. Blood from cows of each group was tested for total protein, reserve alkalinity, glucose and sulfates of iron, copper, zinc, cobalt, taking into account the physiological state of the animals, the number of postpartum complications, and productive indicators.
The effect of oxymetallosuccinate components on biochemical blood parameters was studied: total protein, alkaline reserve, glucose level and mineral composition of highly productive cows during the perinatal period (Table 1). To characterize protein metabolism, total protein was determined, since blood proteins are an important indicator that characterizes the level of metabolism in the body of animals, they are building materials for the cells and tissues of the body itself, and are also actively involved in the formation of dairy products. Total protein in the blood serum of the experimental group of cows increased by 10.3±1.04 g/l, and in the control group there was a decrease of 4.7±0.55 g/l. Reserve alkalinity regulates the acid-base balance in the body of cows and is an indicator of metabolism. Its increase was 4.5 ± 0.30 vol % CO 2 in the experimental group, and a decrease by 2.3 ± 0.06 vol % CO 2 in the control group. Blood glucose level is the main biochemical indicator characterizing carbohydrate metabolism. Carbohydrate metabolism is responsible for providing the body with energy. The level of glucose in the blood of ruminants is low, but quite stable, and this is apparently due to the fact that there are a number of mechanisms (gluconeogenesis, glycogenolysis) that make it possible to maintain the level of glucose in the blood at a constant level even with significant changes in the body. In cows of the experimental group, blood glucose levels increased by 1.85±1.05 mmol/l, in the control group they decreased by 0.02±0.3 mmol/l.
The increase in blood glucose in the cows of the experimental group can be considered as a result of the use of oxymetallosuccinate, and the decrease in the cows of the control group as a discrepancy between the energy intake from the feed and its consumption for metabolic processes and milk formation. An increase in glucose levels reduces the energy deficit spent on metabolic processes, which leads to an increase in milk yield, protein and fat content in milk, and prevents the loss of total weight of the animal.
1).The use of oxymetallosuccinate made it possible to reduce the percentage of obstetric pathology without medications (Table 2, Fig. 1).
3).The use of oxymetallosuccinate made it possible to increase the milk productivity of cows (Table 3).
2).There was an increase in milk productivity in the cows of the experimental group in relation to the control animals by 6.1±0.8 liters (Fig. 2).
