Abstract
Description
Raw material mixture refers to the production of composite materials from polymer and mineral waste for the production of products in the form of slabs, blocks and wall panels for external and internal cladding of walls and plinths of buildings and structures.
There is a known method for processing polymer waste to produce building material [1], which consists of preliminary grinding of a mixture of unsorted HDPE and LDPE waste in an amount of 10-50%, subsequent mixing with clay with a moisture content of 8-12%, pressing at 10 MPa, drying and heat treatment at for 90-180 minutes at the melting temperature of the polymer component of the mixture. The advantages of this mixture are the possibility of recycling polymer waste and fairly low water absorption (2.61-5.71%), while the disadvantages include low compressive strength (9.11-20.45 MPa) and bending strength (2.61-5. 71 MPa). Technological disadvantages of the method are the energy intensity of the polymer melting process and the possibility of their thermal destruction during processing.
A mixture for producing composite building materials is known, containing components of municipal waste [2], consisting of 75 wt. including polyethylene terephthalate waste, 25 wt. including waste polyolefins, 5 wt. parts of modified copolymer of ethylene and vinyl acetate, 0-160 parts by weight. mineral filler containing at least 80% calcium and magnesium carbonates, 8-48 parts by weight. wood filler treated in a 20% sodium silicate solution. The advantages of this mixture are the possibility of complex recycling of heterogeneous waste, low water absorption (0.4-2.7 wt.%), high frost resistance (more than 200 cycles) and fairly high compressive strength (25.1-35.9 MPa) of products. The disadvantages of the mixture include the relatively low bending strength of products (6.2-16.1 MPa), the possibility of destruction of polymers during melting, the duration and multi-stage nature of the production cycle and its high energy intensity associated with the need for separate melting, grinding and drying of waste polyethylene terephthalate, processing of wood waste followed by drying, preheating of the mineral filler to 150 ° C and high pressure of pressing products equal to 25 MPa.
There is a known method for the production of composite building products [3], which consists of mixing and extruding a mixture of household waste polymer materials and carbonate filler. As a carbonate filler, waste from stone sawing and processing of shell limestone or nummulitic limestone and/or waste from crushing and processing limestone rocks into crushed stone with a fraction of up to 5 mm is used. The advantages of the method are the possibility of complex processing of heterogeneous waste, while the disadvantages include the energy intensity of the polymer melting process and the possibility of their thermal destruction during processing, high density (1820-1900 kg/m 3 ) and low strength (5-15 MPa) of products.
Недостатком данной смеси является низкая прочность на сжатие (13,2-15,5 МПа) и изгиб (3,3-3,7 МПа).There is a known method for processing polymer waste and broken glass to produce facing and finishing materials [4], which consists of preliminary mixing of unplasticized polyvinyl chloride waste with technical methylene chloride at a polymer:solvent ratio of 1:1.5 to 1:2.5. The resulting solution is mixed with crushed and dried glass scrap with a particle size of no more than 0.63 mm. Products are formed from the resulting mixture at a pressure of 8 MPa. The advantages of this method are the comprehensive recycling of heterogeneous waste, low energy intensity of production and elimination of the likelihood of thermal destruction of unplasticized polyvinyl chloride by replacing the melting of the polymer with its dissolution, fairly low water absorption (3.8-9.5%) and relatively high frost resistance (37-52 cycles) . The disadvantage of this mixture is its low compressive strength (13.2-15.5 MPa) and bending strength (3.3-3.7 MPa).
Недостатком данной смеси является низкая прочность на сжатие (12,6-16,2 МПа) и изгиб (3,2-4,0 МПа).The closest to the proposed solution is the raw material mixture for the production of facing polymer composite products [5], including, wt.%: broken brick with a specific surface of 50-160 cm 2 /g (i.e. mineral filler) 45-75; solution of polystyrene foam waste in technical methylene chloride in the ratio polystyrene foam: technical methylene chloride from 1:1.2 to 1:1.8 - the rest; the content of waste polystyrene foam ranges from 8.9 to 25.0 wt.%, and the content of technical methylene chloride ranges from 16.1 to 30 wt.%. The advantages of this method are the simultaneous processing of heterogeneous waste, low energy intensity of production and elimination of the likelihood of destruction of polystyrene foam, low water absorption (2.1-4.34%) and relatively high frost resistance (52-58 cycles). The disadvantage of this mixture is its low compressive strength (12.6-16.2 MPa) and bending strength (3.2-4.0 MPa).
The technical problem to which this invention is aimed is to increase the compressive and bending strength of products.
Для достижения поставленной задачи предлагается в качестве наполнителя применять измельченные до размера частиц не более 0,63 мм базальтовые отходы, а соотношение отходы пенополистирола (отходы ППС) : метилен хлористый технический (растворитель) составляет от 1 : 1,2 до 1 : 1,8 при следующем соотношении компонентов (в мас.%):To achieve this task, it is proposed to use basalt waste crushed to a particle size of no more than 0.63 mm as a filler, and the ratio of polystyrene foam waste (PPS waste) : technical methylene chloride (solvent) is from 1: 1.2 to 1: 1.8 with the following ratio of components (in wt.%):
This invention proposes to use basalt waste in the form of crumbs or aspiration of basalt wool, formed during cutting and fitting of finished products. It is allowed to use basalt screenings formed during crushing and fractionation of basalt during the production of crushed stone, as well as waste from cutting, sawing, grinding and polishing basalt, as well as basalt flour. Before use, basalt waste is dried to a constant mass and crushed to a particle size of no more than 0.63 mm.
To obtain a polymer binder, it is proposed to use waste from consumption of polystyrene foam products, in particular waste packaging elements for household appliances, equipment, etc. Before use, EPS waste is also pre-dried to a constant weight and crushed to a piece size of no more than 6 cm. Other waste from other polystyrene products can be used.
The use of basalt waste and EPP waste is justified by the fact that they accumulate in large quantities exceeding the volume of their disposal. This is especially true for EPP waste, which is associated with a relatively short period of operation of the products and large volumes due to low density. At the same time, products made from basalt are widely used for building cladding due to their strength, and products made from polystyrene are durable and moisture resistant.
To obtain a secondary polystyrene binder from EPS waste and convert secondary polystyrene into a viscous-flow state, this invention provides for their dissolution in first grade technical methylene chloride according to GOST 9968-86, followed by heat treatment of the molded products at a temperature not lower than the boiling point of the solvent. The use of dissolving the polymer, as opposed to melting it, makes it possible to reduce the energy intensity of the production cycle due to the cold stages of mixing and pressing, and also eliminates the possibility of thermal destruction of the polymer, which is especially important for secondary polymers. It should be noted that the boiling point of technical methylene chloride (39.6 °C) is significantly lower than the temperature at which the thermal destruction of polystyrene begins (about 180-200 °C). In order to minimize the loss of solvent during volatilization during heat treatment for industrial use of the proposed raw material mixture, the use of sealed equipment, capture and condensation of commercial methylene chloride vapor for its reuse is provided.
The use of technical methylene chloride is justified by its high dissolving and penetrating abilities, which allow quickly and in sufficiently large quantities to dissolve EPS waste, as well as its high volatility, which allows it to be quickly removed during heat treatment. This makes it possible to reduce the duration and energy intensity of the production cycle. It should also be noted that technical methylene chloride is characterized by low flammability and explosiveness, is a substance of hazard class 4 and its cost is lower than that of most other solvents.
The ratio and quantity of added additives influences the achievement of the technical task.
When the content of basalt waste is less than 34.9 wt.%, the raw material mixture turns out to be excessively plastic, which leads to over-pressing, deformation and flash formation in products that are characterized by low strength due to ineffective filling of the polymer binder. When the content of basalt waste is more than 72 wt.%, the raw material mixture turns out to be heterogeneous and friable, and the products have a lack of binder, manifested in low strength, shedding of edges and high water absorption due to high porosity and the predominance of open pores.
EPS waste and industrial methylene chloride must be added to the mixture in certain proportions. When the ratio of waste EPS: solvent is less than 1: 1.2, the binder solution is characterized by excessive viscosity, which does not allow obtaining a homogeneous raw material mixture when stirred and leads to a non-uniform distribution of the binder in the volume of products. At the same time, the dissolution time of EPS waste increases, and solvent removal occurs faster than required to complete the mixing and pressing stages, which does not allow obtaining products with high performance characteristics. When the ratio of waste EPS: solvent is more than 1: 1.8, the raw material mixture turns out to be excessively wet and plastic, which makes mixing difficult, leads to the formation of flash and overpressing, and causes a lack of binder, the consequences of which are described above. At the same time, an excess amount of technical methylene chloride accelerates the dissolution of EPS waste, but at the same time the heat treatment time for its removal significantly increases, which increases energy intensity and the duration of the production cycle.
1 : 1,8.Thus, the technical problem of increasing the compressive and bending strength of products when implementing this invention can be solved when the raw material mixture contains from 34.9 to 72.0 wt.% basalt waste, from 11.8 to 27.0 wt.% EPS waste and from 15.3 to 41.8 wt.% technical methylene chloride, provided that the ratio of EPS waste: technical methylene chloride is from 1: 1.2 to 1: 1.8.
The implementation of the proposed invention is preferable using the following technology: pre-dried to constant weight and crushed waste EPP is mixed with technical methylene chloride in specified ratios to obtain a binder solution. The resulting solution is mixed to a homogeneous raw mixture with a given amount of basalt waste, which is pre-dried to a constant mass, crushed and fractionated to a particle size of no more than 0.63 mm. From the resulting raw material mixture at a specific pressure of 8.5 MPa, products are pressed, which, after removal from the mold, are subjected to heat treatment at a temperature of at least 40 ° C for 30 - 180 minutes, depending on the dimensions of the products, the amount of binder solution and the waste content in it PPP.
