Abstract
Description
The invention relates to medicine, in particular to the restoration of the skin of corpses, altered by putrefactive processes, and can be used in the restoration of human and animal corpses, as well as in forensic practice in the restoration and preservation (embalming) of bodies of the dead for educational and scientific purposes .
The methods of preserving and preserving the bodies of the dead are widely known in anatomical practice. The conservation methods currently in use are essentially based on various methods of injection and intravascular embalming and immersion, for which various substances are used. Such substances are alcohol, in particular isopropyl alcohol, used as a fixing agent and preservative, tannic acid as a means of preventing the growth of fungi, mercury dichloride to inhibit rot and to promote mummification, arsenic, glycerin, paraffin, a mixture of acetone and silicone, as well as formaldehyde or formalin.
Due to its low cost and excellent preserving (preserving) properties, formalin is still the substance most widely used as a preservative for animal and human corpses. However, formalin has known drawbacks, for example, when used, it has a toxic effect on the membranes of the mucous membranes, has a sharp irritating odor and causes severe tissue dehydration and protein coagulation.
Known means for preserving and storing corpses containing ethyl alcohol, glycerin, potassium acetate, sodium acetate, carbolic acid, formalin, potassium chloride, nitrate, propolis, olive oil, eucalyptus leaf and water at a given ratio of components.

A known technique for fixing skin preparations of A.N. Ratnevsky, according to which you can restore the original form of wounds, as a rule, changed as a result of retraction of the elastic system of the skin, underlying muscles and fascia. This succeeds even if the corpse is in a state of mummification or severe putrefactive decomposition. A wound with surrounding skin is excised, departing from the edges of the wound for at least 1-1.5 cm, and the fat layer is removed subcutaneously. Then the skin preparation is dried for 1-2 days, dehydrated with ether, replacing it 2-3 times after 4-6 hours, and dried again. A skin preparation can be stored in a paper bag for a long time.
If necessary, research, the restoration of the original form of the wound is achieved by placing the drug in a solution of the following composition:
After drying at room temperature, the drug is ready for research. Under the influence of the solution, collagen fibers swell, and the edges of the wound straighten when they touch each other. Due to the uniform increase in the volume of the entire skin, the wound takes on the form that it had at the time of occurrence, but its size is usually 10-16% smaller. When processing skin preparations with severe putrefactive changes (before placing them in the solution) for 2-3 hours they are washed in running water to partially remove rotting products. Perhydrol (10-20 ml per 100 ml of the solution) is added to the solution, since without the presence of its preparations they acquire a dark gray or blackish color. Discoloration lasts up to 7-12 days. Such preparations are stored in a solution that does not contain perhydrol, since in the presence of its preparations are destroyed. The drug can be stored in a fixing solution for an unlimited time. The drug can be dried for storage or shipping. When re-processed with a solution, the drug regains its original properties.
