Abstract
Description
The invention relates to agriculture, in particular to methods for growing potato seedlings in sheltered soil, and can be used for seed propagation of hybrids.
A known method of growing seedlings.
The disadvantage of this method is the trauma of plants during picking, which leads to a slowdown in growth and later formation of the crop.
The closest technical solution to the invention is a method of growing seedlings, including sowing seeds, picking at the stage of 3-4 leaves.
The disadvantage of this method is damage to the roots during a dive, as a result of which growth is slowed down and the crop ripens later.
The purpose of the invention is to reduce the ripening time of potato hybrids grown from seeds.
This is achieved by the fact that the seedlings, upon reaching the stage of 5-6 leaves, are sprinkled with a soil mixture with fertilizers to the apical part.
The method is as follows.
Hybrid seeds are sown on paper tape and embedded in a prepared soil mixture with mineral fertilizers (per 10 kg of the mixture: 2.5 g of urea, 6 g of potassium sulfate, 10 g of superphosphate), one in each pot. Before sowing, the mixture in pots is poured with a solution of micronutrient fertilizers: 8 g of copper sulfate, 0.08 g of sulfate salts of manganese, magnesium, and zinc and 0.15 g of boric acid per 10 l of water per 3 m 2 . The surface of the soil is mulched with two films: dark, with a hole above the seed and transparent. The transparent film is removed when the shoots appear.
When the seedlings reach the stage of 5-6 leaves, they are sprinkled with a soil mixture with fertilizers, leaving the apical part on the surface.
Unlike the known method, the picking of seedlings is excluded, and therefore, there is no trauma to the root system, which accelerates maturation and reduces the cost of care.
Sprinkling seedlings in the stage of 5-6 leaves stimulates root and stolon formation.
The table shows that by maturity the best option is to sprinkle seedlings in the stage of 5-6 leaves. Since it is in this stage that the maximum increase in root mass occurs, the powder additionally stimulates root and stolon formation, which affects the ripening period of the plant.
The powder in the stage of 3-4 leaflets is premature, since normal root and stolon formation is still not possible, and when the stage of 5-6 leaves is reached, in this case additional powder will be required. If we confine ourselves to one powder, the ripening period increases. Powder in the stage of 7-8 leaves is also impractical, because seedlings will outgrow, the period of maximum root formation will be missed, which lengthens the ripening period.
П р и м е р. PRI me R. The soil mixture was prepared from humus, turf land and sand in a ratio of 1: 2: 1. The prepared soil mixture with mineral fertilizers (2.5 g of urea, 8 g of potassium sulfate, 10 g of superphosphate were taken per 10 kg of mixture) were poured into a pot. Hybrid potato seeds sown on paper tape were planted one at a time in each pot. The surface of the soil was mulched with films: dark, with a hole above the seed and transparent without a hole. Before sowing, the soil was watered in pots with a solution of microfertilizers: 8 g of copper sulfate, 0.08 g of manganese, magnesium and zinc sulfate salts and 0.15 g of boric acid per 10 l of water per 3 m 2 . Upon reaching the stage of 5-6 leaves, the seedlings were sprinkled with a layer of the same soil, leaving the apical part on the surface so that the vegetation continued until the harvest. Ripening terms were reduced by 10-13 days.
