Inventia se refera la un fir textil din polipropilena, destinat tesaturilor sau articolelor tricotate, si la un procedeu de obtinere a acestuia, firul fiind caracterizat prin aceea ca, în scopul largirii gamei sortimentale si al extinderii utilizarii instalatiilor de producere a firelor sintetice, este constituit din polipropilena cu o izotacticitate de min 86%, cu o densitate de 0,910 + sau minus 0,05 g/cm cub, cu o masa volumetrica aparenta de 0,5 g/cm cub, cu un indice de curgere la 230 grade C de 10 ... 16 g/min, sub o apasare de 2,16 kg/cm patrat, cu o temperatura de topire de 166 ... 168 grade C, cu o masa moleculara medie viscozimetrica de 125000 ... 165000, cu o tensiune de alungire de 35 ... 37 N/mm patrat, o rezistenta la îndoire de 50 ... 52 N/mm patrat, un modul de elasticitate de 2000 ... 2100 N/mm patrat si o temperatura de îmbatrânire de 100 ... 105 grade C. Procedeul consta din topirea granulelor de polipropilena la temperatura 225 ... 270 grade C, filtrare prin site metalice sau prin site si carbura de siliciu, de unde, iesind prin filiere cu orificii de 0,5 ... 1,0 mm diametru, formeaza filamente. Firele sunt apoi etirate la cald, apoi torsionate sau texturate.
