Invenţia se referă la detectarea şi izolarea microorganismelor care degradează moniliformina şi anume bacteria din specia Ochrobactrum, precum şi la o metodă de degradare a moniliforminei cu ajutorul acestei bacterii. Bacteria este depozitată la ATCC cu numărul de acces 55846 sau ATCC cu numărul de acces 55854. Invenţia prezintă aplicabilitate în domeniul agriculturii.
