Abstract

Tłokowy silnik spalinowy charakteryzuje się tym, że podstawową jednostkę silnika tworzy para cylindrów (1, 2) z oddzielnymi komorami zapłonowymi (12, 13), połączonych ze sobą co najmniej jednym przewodem przelotowym (7), znajdującym się na wysokości pomiędzy dolnym minimalnym położeniem tłoka, a górnym maksymalnym położeniem tłoka każdego z cylindrów, tworzących parę, przy czym okno wlotowe przewodu przelotowego może znajdować się na innej wysokości niż okno wylotowe tego przewodu, natomiast jeden z cylindrów pary zawiera co najmniej jedno okno dolotowe (8), zaś drugi z cylindrów pary zawiera co najmniej jedno okno wylotowe (9), ponadto cykl pracy jednego tłoka jest przesunięty w fazie w stosunku do cyklu pracy drugiego tłoka o wielkość ? ? 0°. Silnik może zawierać więcej niż jedną podstawową jednostkę, tworzącą parę.
