Sposób izolacji oczyszczonego propano-1,3-diolu z mieszaniny pofermentacyjnej, polega na ekstrakcji propano-1,3-diolu, z wysoką wydajnością, mieszaniną rozpuszczalników organicznych, która zawiera 2-butanon. Sposób umożliwia prowadzenie procesu w sposób ciągły lub etapowo, z możliwością wielokrotnego wykorzystania mieszaniny rozpuszczalników organicznych użytej do ekstrakcji.
