Abstract

Oppfinnelsen angår en fremgangsmåte for fremstil- lingen, fra jern(II), av oppløsningsform-vann- behandlingskjemikalier som inneholder jern(III), et granulert mellomprodukt oppnådd i fremgangs- måten, og anvendelsen av sluttproduktene i frem- gangsmåten. I fremgangsmåten oksideres et råmate- riale som inneholder jern(II) i form av en vandig oppløsning og eventuelt urenheter ved en elevert temperatur slik at en utfellende, hovedsakelig ren jern(III)-forbindelse og en oppløsningsfase som inneholder urenhetene oppnås. Den vesentlige ideen med oppfinnelsen er at utfellingen utføres på en slik måte at del av jern(III) utfelles i form av goethitt FeO(OH) eller, i nærværet av sulfationer, i form av hydroniumjarositt H3OFe3(OH)6(S04)2, mens del av jern(III) forblir som en vannoppløselig jern(III)- forbindelse i oppløsningsfasen. Egnede råmaterialer omfatter urent jern(II)-sulfat og syrevaskingsopp- løsninger som inneholder jern(II)-klorid. Den ut- felte rene jern(III)-forbindelsen kan ytterligere separeres ved filtrering eller, alternativt, kan slurryen granuleres for å danne et fast mellom- produkt og kan senere på nytt oppslemmes i vann, hvorpå en ren jern(III)-forbindelse kan separeres ved filtrering. Den rene jern(lll)-forbindelsen opp- løses i en syre, hvorpå den er egnet som en koagu- lant for rensingen av drikkevann, og oppløsnings- fasen er slik egnet som en koagulant for behand- lingen av avfallsvann.
