Abstract

PURPOSE: To precipitate a metal cyanogen complex easily by a zinc compound by a method wherein the free cyanogen in the drainage is oxidized by a hypochlorous acid, and the remaining hypochlorous acid is reduced and removed.
CONSTITUTION: The drainage containing the metal cyanogen complex salt of copper, iron, etc. and the free cyanogen is disposed by means of a normal hypochlorous acid method, and the free cyanogen is oxidized. A reductant, such as ferrous sulfate, sodium bisulfite or the like is added, and the remaining hypochlorous acid is completely removed while the metal complex is also reduced. The zinc compound is added, and the metal cyanogen complex having an excellent precipitating property is formed, and separated. Thus, water can be discharged only by simple pH treatment because metallic ions and remaining chlorine are not contained in disposed water obtained.
