Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain zinc-trivalent chrome electric plating bath capable of forming galvanized film possessing uniform and excellent surface color tone and luster and excelling in corrosion resistance, by adding trivalent chrome salt into acid zinc electric plating bath.
CONSTITUTION: As acidie zinc plating bath, a bath of zinc sulfate, zinc chloride or the like is used, of which concentration is controlled in a wide range from 20W 30g/l, to 300W500g/l and pH is adjusted at 2.5W5.5. At least one kind of water soluble trivalent chrome salt such as chloride, nitrate, sulfate and potassium sulfate of chrome is added to this acid bath at the rate of 1W80g/l. Besides, conductive salt such as ammonium sulfate, pH buffer such as boric acid, and lustering agent are added as required. A galvanized layer formed by using this plating bath has a chrome content of 20W30ppm, and possesses a pearl-like bright zinc luster and uniform color tone, so that subsequent chromate treatment may not be necessary.
