Abstract
Det er beskrevet en ionerbyttermembran-brendselcelle innbefattende elementærceller, som hver innbefatter to bipolare plater (17), et membran (22), to elektroder (20, 21) i intim kontakt med membranet (22), to ledende strømkollektorer og to pakninger (18). De bipolare platene (17) er avkjølt kun langs periferien ved hjelp av et kjølemedium som strømmer gjennom sidevinduer (12) i pakningen (18). Materialet i de bipolare platene har fortrinnsvis en høy termisk konduktivitet.
