Oppfinnelsen er rettet mot anvendelse av amfoglycinater med formel R'CO-N-(R2)-(CH2)n-N(R3)-CH2COOX som korrosjonsbeskyttelsesmiddel for jem- og ikke-jernmetall, der R1 er en alkyl- eller alkenylrest med 6 til 22 C-atomer, n er 2 til 6, X er H eller et alkali- eller jordalkaliion og R2 og R3 betyr H eller en hydroksyalkylrest med 2 til 4 karbonatomer, idet R1 er H, når R3 er en hydroksyalkylrest og omvendt.
