Abstract

En fremgangsmåte for deteksjon av en forbindelse som mimikerer, potensierer eller inhiberer den fysiologiske virkningen av fettproteinet, hvor metoden omfatter: (a) for en forbindelse som mimikerer den fysiologiske virkningen av fettproteinet, vurdere virkningen av forbindelsen på en fettproteinaktivert signaltransduser og aktivator av transkripsjon (STAT) DNA-responselement koblet til et rapportørgen; eller (b) for en forbindelse som potensierer eller inhiberer den fysiologiske virkning av fettproteinet, vurdere virkningen av forbindelsen etter responsen frembragt av fett- proteinet på et fettproteinaktivert STAT DNA-responselement koblet til et rapportør- gen; responselementet og rapportøren blir uttrykt i en fettproteinresponsiv cellelinje; et "kit" av deler adaptert til anvendelse i en slik fremgangsmåte og en forbindelse identifisert ved en slik fremgangsmåte.
