Abstract

Et digitalt radiokommunikasjonssystem hvor de skade- lige virkningene av fading, tidsdispersjon og inter- ferens i kanalen reduseres ved å bruke kombinert interferens-avvisning og -spredning ("interference rejection and diversity combining"). Digitale sig- naler som er representative for digitale symbolsek- venser, sendes gjennom en radiokanal hvori signalene kan korrumperes av fading, tidsdispersjon og inter- ferens. De korrumperte signaler mottas av en mottak- er som har én eller flere antenner. De mottatte signaler prosesseres for å danne en mottatt signal- prøvestrøra rjj(kTg) for hver antenne. Estimerte mot- tatte signalprøver lages for hver antenne ved å kombinere hypotetiske signalsekvenser og modeller til hver kanal. De mottatte signalprøver og de esti- merte mottatte signalprøver prosesseres sammen med en estimering av skadekorrelasjonsegenskapene ("im- pairment correlation properties") for å lage gren- metrikk ("branch metrics") som brukes av en Viter- bi-, eller andre sekvensestimerings-, algoritme(r). Grenmetrikkprosessoren kan ta én av flere konfigura- sjoner avhengig av om kanalen er tidsvarierende eller ikke.
