Abstract

I tordensky-observasjonssystemet ifølge oppfinnelsen beregnes det akku- mulerte vertikalretnings-vanninnhold (VIL) av en aritmetisk VIL-operasjons- enhet (11) ut fra ekkostyrkedata som oppnås ved hjelp av en klimaradar, en ekkotopptemperatur oppnås ved hjelp av en aritmetisk ekkotopptemperatur-opera- sjonsenhet (12) i henhold til høyde- temperatur-sammenlikningsdata på grunn- lag av klimadata på stor høyde, et ned- børsområde bestemmes ved hjelp av en områdebestemmelsesenhet (13) ut fra VIL- dataene, og et tordenskyområde som er frembrakt innenfor nedbørsområdet, iden- tifiseres ut fra ekkotopptemperatur- dataene. Det tordenskyområde som er bestemt av områdebestemmelsesenheten (13), utsettes for en korrela- sjonsprosess uttrykt ved avstand og overlappingsområde ved hjelp av en iden- tifiserings/sporings-prosessenhet (15), slik at det utføres en identi- fikasjon/sporing, og resultatene av prosessene i områdebestemmelsesenheten (13) og identifiserings/sporings-pro- sessenheten (15) fremvises på en bilde- fremvisningsenhet (14). Således kan selv et tordenskyområde som frembringes regi- onalt inne i en sky som strekker seg på forholdsvis lav høyde, identifiseres, og dettes område kan detekteres og spores.
