Abstract
Et kommunikasjonssystem omfatter en mottager og en sender for transmisjon av et kommunikasjonssignal til mottageren. Senderen justerer sitt sendeeffekt- nivå som reaksjon på mottager-effektstyresignaler som er sendt ut av mottageren. Mottageren omfatter en demper for dempning av de mottatte kommunika- sjonssignaler, samt måleorganer for måling av signalstyrken hos det dempede signal. Den målte signalstyrke blir koblet til dempestyreorganer og til sendeeffektstyreorganer. Dempestyreorganene og sendestyreorganene justerer henholdsvis mottager- dempning og sendeeffektnivå slik at systemets ytelse optimaliseres. Det vil innebære at det dempede sig- nal holdes innenfor mottagerens dynamiske område. Det kan også innbefatte eliminering av forstyr- relsessignaler ved justering av mottagerdempning for fremskaffelse av et effektiv dynamisk område for mottagning bare av signaler med et signalstyrkenivå som er høyere enn forstyrrelsessignalets styrkeniva, samtidig som sendeeffektnivået økes for å holde det innenfor det effektive dynamiske område for mot- tageren. Forstyrrelsessignalet kan detekteres som en økt bitfeilhastighet for det mottatte kommunika- sjonssignal. Apparatet og fremgangsmåten kan også anvendes ved systemer hvori en flerhet av mottagere er koblet til en felles antenne via en mottager- multikobler.
