Abstract

En isolerende pakning (10) er fremskaffet for å anbringes mellom sammenføyde stykker i en ledning. Pakningen (10) oppviser et pakningslegeme (12) som isolerer stykkene elektrisk fra hverandre. I en utførelsesform har pakningen (10) et par isolerende fåringer (16, 18) av kompositt- materiale laminert på motsatte sider av en metallkjerne (14). En endeløs kanal på hver side av pakningslegemet (12) strekker seg rundt en sentral strømningsåpning (20) og er utformet med en dybde stor nok til at en strekker seg igjennom den isolerende foring (16, 18) og inn i metall- kjernen (14). En ytre sidevegg (54, 74) av hver endeløse kanal (50, 70) oppviser en spiss vinkel til dennes bunnvegg (52, 72), og en indre sidevegg (56, 76) oppviser en vinkel på i det minste nitti grader med hensyn til bunnveggen (52, 72). Kanalene (50, 70) kan ligge overfor hverandre eller være forskjøvet i forhold til hverandre.
