Det er beskrevet et kjølesmørestoff som, som EP- additlv, inneholder et alkali- eller Jordalkallsalt av en forbindelse med formelen 0-R1 0=P¿OH 0-R2 hvor R1 betyr et hydrogenatom eller en C1-C2rj-alkyl- gruppe, en C2-C2o-alkenylgruppe eller en eventuelt substituert C^-Cjg-arylgruppe og R2 betyr en Ci-C2Q- alkylgruppe, en C2-C2Q-alkenylgruppe eller en eventuelt substituert C^-Cig-arylgruppe. Dette kjølesmørestoffet utmerker seg ved en bedre additiv-virkning sammenlignet med produkter som Inneholder aminsalter. Det er fritt for dietanolamin og kan følgelig ved anvendelsen ikke danne nitrosamin.
