Abstract
Foreliggende oppfinnelse angår en elektrolysecelle og en kapillarspalteelektrode for gassutviklende eller gass-forbrukende elektrolyseprosesser og reaksjoner, samt en elektrolyseprosess for dette formål. Kapillarspalteelektroden (2, 3) er da utstyrt med kanaler (10, 13,. 11, 11') som tillater innbyrdes adskilt strømning av henholdsvis reaksjonsgass og elektrolytt/permeat i elektroden. Denne elektrode er fortrinnsvis hydrofil i et smalt indre område (10, 13) for montering på en skillevegg, men er hydrofob overalt ellers (11, 11'). Elektrolytt/permeat vil da bare trenge inn i det område av kapillarspalteelektroden som befinner seg nær inntil skilleveggen, mens det område som befinner seg i avstand fra skilleveggen forblir fritt for elektrolytt og permeat, således at en uhindret strømning av reaksjonsgass fremmes. Oppfinnelsesgjenstanden er særlig anvendbar i elektrolyse--celler for klor/alkali- eller hydrogenelektrolyse, samt konstruksjon av celler for produksjon av elektrisk kraft.
