Abstract

Fremgangsmåte for fremstilling av smøreoljer som har en vlskositetsindeks på minst 120 og et stivnepunkt på minst -45° C ved a) oligomerisering av en blanding av C5-C20 1-olefiner omfattende minst 2,6 % vekt/vekt 1- decen og minst 6 % vekt/vekt 1-heksen i nærvær av en katalysator. Den således dannede smøreolje kan hydrogeneres i nærvær av hydrogen for å forbedre dens oksydasjonsstabllitet. Fremgangsmåten er særlig egnet for olefintilførsler dannet ved en Fischer Tropsch- syntese hvor karbonmonoksyd og hydrogen føres over en oppvarmet katalysator.
