Abstract

Enzymatisk dehalogenering av uønskede nltrogenfrie organohalogenforbindelser utføres ved tilsetning av en dehalogenase til en vandig sammensetning omfattende en nitrogenfri organohalogenforbindelse og en nitrogen- holdig kationlsk polymer. Den enzymatiske dehaloge- neringen av den nltrogenfrie organohalogenforbindelsen oppnås uten noen vesentlig effekt på den nltrogenfrie organohalogenforbindelsen. Dehalogeneringen kan utføres via kontinuerlige, satsvise eller halvkontinuerlige prosesser. Sammensetningen er spesielt nyttig som en papirvåt- styrkeformulering og er nyttig i kommersielle papir- fremstillingsprosesser. Det resulterende papirproduktet omfatter en rest av en mikroorganisme. Enzymet oppnås fortrinnsvis fra en biokatalysator, og enda mer foretrukket fra en mikroorganisme. Satsvls anrikning av en kultur av en dehalogenaseholdig mikroorganisme gir en sammensetning som i det vesent- lige kan eliminere tilstedeværelsen av nitrogenfrie organohalogenforbindelser som anses for å være forurensninger.
