Abstract

Abdominal ultralydavbildning ut- føres ved oral eller rektal admini- strering av vandig avbildningspreparat inneholdende uorganiske partikler av mikronstørrelse sammen med en tilstrek- kelig mengde av et oppløst hydrokolloid til å opprettholde partiklene i suspen- sjonen. Veggene av magesekken, tolv- fingertarmen og tarmene blir belagt med partiklene og avbildes derved klarere av ultralydavbildningsstrålen. Samtidig passerer ultralydbølger delvis gjennom veggene og avbilder strukturer på ut- siden av disse. Avbildning og gjennom- trengelighet av veggene kan derved opp- nås samtidig.
