Abstract
Oppfinnelsen vedrører en understøttet katalysator og en fremgangsmåte for fremstilling av denne. Den understøttede katalysator i samsvar med oppfinnelsen er særlig nyttig ved behandling av avgasser fra interne forbrenningsmotorer og omfatter en porøs bærer hvorpå det er avsatt katalytisk aktive elementer og særlig cerium assosiert med andre elementer. Cerium avsettes i henhold til oppfinnelsen bare på en perifer krans med bredde bestemt av bæreren ved impregnering med en kolloidal oppløsning av en ceriumforbindelse.
