Abstract

En metallmatrikskompositt fremstilles ved & atomisere en strøm av smeltet aluminium-litium legering til å danne en dusj av varme metallpartikler ved å utsette strømmen for en relativ kald gass rettet mot strømmen, tilføre strømmen eller dusjen fine faste partikler av en forsterkning, eksempelvis silisiumkarbid og avsette metallet inneholdende de innarbeidede partikler, hvorved det erholdes en kompositt med de følgende egenskaper i ekstrudert og eldingsherdet tilstand: 0,2 % konvensjonell flytegrense - minst 400 KPa Bruddstyrke - minst40 KPa. Forlengelse - minst 2,0 %. Elastisitetsmodul - minst 85 Ga. Densitet - maksimal 2,75 g/cm.
