Abstract

System og fremgangsmåte for behandling og redusering av slam via ozonering i en avløpsvannbehandlingsprosess. Slambehandlingssystemet (10) innbefatter: en slamozoneringsreaktor (30) koblet til et basseng (20) for aktivert slambehandling og tilpasset til å motta en væskestrøm av slam inneholdende biofaststoffer fra bassenget (20) for aktivert slambehandling. Slambehandlingssystemet (10) inkluderer også et system (40) for ozonanriket gassinjeksjon operativt koblet til reaktoren og tilpasset til å injisere ozonanriket gass i væskestrømmen ved eller oppstrøms for slamozoneringsreaktoren (30). Slamozoneringsreaktoren (30) er konfigurert til å gi effektiv gass-væske kontakt mellom den ozonanrikede gassen og væskestrømmen for derved å oksidere biofaststoffene i væskestrømmen og initiere baktericeellelysis og derved redusere biofaststoffene. Etter redusering av biofaststoffene returneres væskestrømmen via en returledning (50) til det aktiverte slambassenget eller annet tømmepunkt (23).
