Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a package and a subject for the production of such a package, in accordance with claims 1 and 2 respectively. The package protects objects in the package against impact and impact, and is primarily intended for flat objects, such as shelves, cabinet doors etc, which in terms of appearance are particularly sensitive to blows and bumps against edges and corners. The packaging is designed to be made of a breakable material, preferably corrugated cardboard.
Objects, such as cabinet doors and shelf tops, for furnishing purposes are often manufactured with a thin cover veneer or equivalent and a careful surface treatment. They are then very sensitive to knocks and shocks, especially to edges and corners, as in and of themselves insignificant damage for reasons of appearance can make the products more or less unusable. Such products must therefore be well protected during continued handling by the manufacturer, warehouse, retailer and customers, as well as during transport between them. It is therefore common for the individual items to be packed in corrugated cardboard packaging and for special inserts to be used to achieve protection at the edges. This protection can e.g. formed from bent or rolled corrugated cardboard or other suitable material.
The damage that may occur to the goods usually occurs in connection with the transport and sale of the goods. Products of this type are often manufactured as identical or cohesive single items. After packaging, the goods are often stacked in large numbers. They are then easily exposed to shocks at the edges, depending for example on handling with trucks and other work equipment, stacks that overturn and certain goods that fall during transport to the end user or are exposed to shocks against vehicle edges, door posts etc.
The main purpose of the present invention is to create a package which is itself designed in such a way that it protects the goods against damage of the aforementioned types without any further additions in the form of edge inserts in the package etc. A further purpose of the invention is to further simplify handling by creating a package that is designed in one piece, so that packaging is significantly simplified.
In the following, the invention will be described in more detail in connection with the embodiment shown in the accompanying figures.
Fig. 1 shows a closed package in accordance with the invention.
Fig. 2 shows a cross-section through the packaging, perpendicular to the longitudinal direction.
Fig. 3 shows a cross-section through part of the packaging in its longitudinal direction.
Fig. 4 shows a blank for a package in accordance with the invention.
The package 1 shown in the figures is designed to be made of corrugated cardboard with a bottom side 3, long sides 6, 7 and end faces, which are delimited by side surfaces 9. Characteristic of the package is that the long sides 6, 7 are not perpendicular to the top and bottom sides of the package , but form an angle to these, so that the packaging in cross-section takes on a trapezoidal shape, as can be seen from fig. 2, preferably in the form of an isosceles parallelepiped. This means that at each long side the bottom surface 3 has a section "a" wider than the total width of the upper side. The triangular space thus formed at the edges becomes open. In order to partially achieve a corresponding impact protection at the short sides of the package and to partially achieve a form-stable package, the end sides are designed in a special way. They include three different areas on the package's blank, namely closest to the bottom surface 3, an edge surface 8 intended to be folded over and placed against the bottom surface 3, partly a side surface 9 with slanted edges 13,14 and an outer, final edge surface 10 which is intended for to rest against the narrower side of the package, which is formed by the two lid parts 4, 5.
Deretter When the packaging is to be used, the item 2 is placed on the bottom surface 3 and beforehand or afterwards the long sides 6, 7 are folded upwards to approximately a right angle in relation to the bottom surface. Then
Varen holdes da på plass i forpakningen ved å ligge an mot kortsidene 9 og avgrensningslinjene mellom langsidene 6, 7 og lokkdelen 4, 5. fold the short sides to the position shown in fig. 3, after which the lid surfaces 4, 5 are folded down and the folding of the long sides 6, 7 towards the bottom surface 3 is finished, so that the desired shape of the package is achieved. In this way, the long sides 6, 7 are supported against the inclined surfaces 13, 14 on the short sides and the packaging is held together, for example by gluing the lid part 4, 5 to the upper surfaces 10 on the short sides or by attaching the lid part together with adhesive tape along the joint line. The packaging should be well adapted to the size of the item. The product is then held in place in the packaging by resting against the short sides 9 and the boundary lines between the long sides 6, 7 and the lid part 4, 5.
Fortrinnsvis utformes forpakningen i bølgepapp, idet foretrekkes at bølgeretningen er forpakningens lengderetning. The packaging is preferably designed in corrugated cardboard, with the preference being that the direction of the waves is the longitudinal direction of the packaging.
Within the framework of the inventive idea, various variations of the execution of the packaging can be imagined. For example, the lid can be designed in one piece and also have an extension tab that overlaps each of the long sides 6 or 7, so that the package can be closed by gluing this tab to the long side. It is also possible, for example, to design the packaging so that one whose corner fillings of fixed parts of the packaging are in the corners closest to the short sides of the triangular space.
