Abstract
Det beskrives en fremgangsmåte og en virvelseparator for å avgasse en fluidblanding, omfattende en bærevæske og gassformede og/eller forgassbare bestanddeler, hvor fluidblandingen blir akselerert i en halsseksjon (6,21) av et virvelrør (1,20) slik at det statiske trykk av fluidblandingen blir redusert og forgassbare bestanddeler forgasser til en gassfase, og fluidblandingen strømmer som en i hovedsak homogent fordelt blanding av gass og væske gjennom halsseksjonen, der den akselererte fluidblanding blir forårsaket å virvle innenfor en rørformet midtseksjon av virvelrøret slik at fluidblandingen blir separert av sentrifugalkrefter til en avgasset væskeandel og en gassanriket andel, hvor den avgassede væskeandel blir forårsaket å strømme inn i en ringformet væskeutslippskanal (4,21), og den gassanrikede andel blir forårsaket å strømme inn i en sentral gassutløpsleder (3,24). En fordel ved å forårsake at fluidblandingen strømmer som en i hovedsak homogent fordelt blanding av gass og væske gjennom halsseksjonen er at lydhastigheten i en slik blanding er lav og derved økes Machtallet og trykkreduksjonen i halsseksjonen, og forgassing av gassbobler i blandingen forbedres.
