Abstract

Den foreliggende oppfinnelsen vedrører et molekylært verktøy for å forsterke salttoleransen i en organisme. Mer spesifikt angår oppfinnelsen forsterking av salttoleranse hos arter som er viktige i internasjonal akvakultur. Oppfinnelsen angr transferrinkoblede genetiske markører (mikrosatellitt-transferrinhaplotyper) i en organisme, der de genetiske markørene segregeres med salttoleranse, og den angår også funksjonelle mutanter (SNP'er) i transferringenet, som sammenfaller med markerhaplotypene, og er følgelig betraktet som funksjonelle mutanter tett koblet opp til salttoleranse.
